I have always been interested in combining
my psychological sensibility with art expression. I happened upon
this combination with my house collages. In these works, the simple
form of a house, as typically drawn by a child, came to represent
a person’s soul or psyche. Using this as my prototype, I
began to expand this image to express the uniqueness of someone’s
dreams, fantasies, and secret wishes. I love the idea of visiting
a secret world where faeries converse, magic wands exist, and
my Persian cat becomes my dance partner for an afternoon in the
shade of magic trees that stroll around at night. Since I’m
unable to travel to this special place, I am free to create these
images on canvas or other interesting surfaces in order to share
my visions of an alternative world with others.
